Willingness
There are no solutions, only tradeoffs. How about looking at it from a different angle? What if we imagine the tradeoff is pain, while the solution is your willingness to endure it?
Because in life, you can either stay on the path you’re following now or change it. Do you accept the pain of not knowing where your life could take you, or does the pain of settling into your ways outweigh a change? Let this dictate how you navigate through your days.
Take waking up early, for example: you can either hit snooze and stay in bed longer, but deal with the pain of not following your morning routine, or you can face the pain of getting out of bed while uncomfortable, but have the opportunity to complete your responsibilities and obligations to yourself. There is no right answer, but instead only the question of which pain are you willing to endure more?
For almost a year, I have battled the seesaw of pursuing what my current passions in life are, or settling into this routine I’ve followed for the past few years. I finally hit a breaking point where the pain of doing nothing hurt more than starting something now.
This is what birthed this website. For months, I contemplated how to revive my passion for philosophy, knowledge, and sharing my learnings. Though it is unclear how all of this will turn out, what matters is getting something started.
So now it is time to ask yourself: what pain are you willing to endure, and what must change?
